Are You Listening, Can You See Me? — 2018

Are You Listening, Can You See Me? questions how something that cannot be seen, such as sound, can be made visible. The work explores the relationship between sound, visibility and presence, asking how we might make visible what is otherwise unseen.

This becomes a reflection on people who feel unheard. When a person’s voice is not listened to or acknowledged, they can begin to feel invisible. The work asks whether listening can become a way of seeing, of recognising someone’s presence and making them visible.
