Lorraine Simiana is an accomplished artist based in Sydney, whose creative journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Armed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting, Lorraine's artistic odyssey began with abstract expressions. However, in 2016, a spirit of exploration propelled her into the realm of diverse mediums and techniques, unveiling new dimensions of her artistic identity.

It was during this transformative phase that Lorraine encountered the mesmerising world of cymatics, a harmonious convergence of art and science that materialises sound into captivating visual narratives. Originally a tool for deciphering intricate auditory patterns, cymatics gave birth to intricate and unique designs, defying conventional notions of how sound can be perceived and visualised.

Lorraine's artistic ethos resonates deeply with the power of music. Her creative process is enriched by the infusion of melodies and rhythms, allowing her to authentically convey her emotions and experiences. Music, with its unique ability to immortalise life's moments, adds a profound layer of meaning to her creations, turning them into poignant reflections of her journey.

Lorraine's artistic prowess has earned her well-deserved recognition, including being a finalist in the esteemed Campbelltown Art Prize. Her talents have also graced vibrant events such as the "Plaza in Four Parts," a live painting performance that was part of the Granny Smith Festival in Eastwood, presented by the City of Ryde.

Additionally, Lorraine has been bestowed the honor of Artist-in-Residence at the illustrious Blacktown Arts Centre, not once, but twice - in both 2017 and 2018. These residencies stand as a testament to her commitment to artistic growth and innovation, providing her with fertile ground to cultivate her creative visions.

Join Lorraine Simiana on her artistic voyage, as she continues to challenge boundaries, meld mediums, and orchestrate symphonies of color and form that echo the rhythms of life itself.
