Works on canvas

Works on canvas marks the beginning of my painting practice in 2014, grounded in pure abstraction and process-driven approaches. Working experimentally across methods and materials, I allowed the process of making to guide each work, testing, adjusting, and refining how paint could be manipulated, layered, and structured to create movement, depth, and tension.

These works established concerns that continue to inform the practice: restraint, surface, and the accumulation of marks over time. The focus on layering, tension, and spatial awareness, developed here through non-representational form, continues to underpin the work as it has shifted toward figurative and concept-driven painting.
