being, belonging, becoming
Being, belonging, becoming explores identity as an ongoing and fluid process rather than a fixed state. The work considers how the self is shaped through experience, memory, and the continuous negotiation between internal perception and external context.
Rather than presenting identity as resolved, the series holds it in transition, examining the tensions between presence, connection, and transformation. These works reflect the shifting nature of belonging, where stability and uncertainty coexist, and where the process of becoming remains open and unresolved.
Materially, the work is developed through the use of resin and sound. Resin is employed for its capacity to hold depth, translucency, and suspended form, suggesting layers of experience that are both visible and obscured. Sound operates as a parallel element, extending the work beyond the visual. Subtle audio components introduce a temporal and sensory dimension, allowing the work to be encountered as both image and environment.
Together, these elements create spaces that reflect the complexity of identity as something continuously forming, shaped by what is seen, felt and remembered.
